Hello there! Welcome to BioComputiX!
I'm Edin Hamzić, a veterinarian-turned-geneticist who ended up in bioinformatics and data science, and never really left.
I hold a joint double Ph.D. in genetics from Aarhus University and AgroParisTech (University of Paris-Saclay), with a focus on statistical genetics, quantitative genetics, and applied bioinformatics.
After my PhD, I spent the better part of a decade working as a data scientist across ICT companies, applying statistics, machine learning, and data engineering outside of biology which turned out to be more useful than I expected.
BioComputix is mine. I built it as a public record of what I'm learning and building at the intersection of genetics, computational biology, and AI. The posts are a mix of things I'm actively working on, refreshing, or figuring out which include genetics, bioinformatics, LLMs, data engineering. But also some educational, some project write-ups, some just thinking out loud.
If you want more regular content such as data-backed posts on bioinformatics and AI I post actively on BioComputiX LinkedIn Page.
